What a useful little machine. Who needs front end loaders like the one behind it anyways?

Chinny will be pleased.

The C15 in red is the ladybug as car, personified.

To move the broken Citroen out of the road... that's why.

I’m really impressed 3 cows fit in there. I’m even more impressed someone got them in there in the first place.

And that haybale stunt might have been really impressive but the video cut off too early to tell.

So, debunked?

The second video is oddly hypnotic. Not sure what is being advertised  for some of those things.

Always liked these little things, though apparently C15s rusted like nobody’s business :(

Given that last video; Somehow I really want to re do the 2.0L turbo engine swap I did in me Peugeot 205 into a C15. It should bolt right in, with factory engine mounts.

They’re based on the Citroen Visa, which was introduced in the 70s. PSA fixed their rust issues with practically all cars introduced in the 80s and beyond, but somehow cars that had their origins in the 70s kept their rust issues. This sadly includes the CX and 505. And the C15.

Wait...b y 505 do you mean the Peugeot 505? They’re almost none of those left here in canada, much memory serves they were incredibly durable and the few that are left don’t have much rest at all? I was under the impression, at least for the North American market, that their rustproofing was quite good...maybe I’m mistaken!

That would be fun !

There was an ad for a 306 S16 with a 405 T16 swap and a modern IHI ball bearing turbo for something like 4500€ the other day, it was not available anymore the next day when i wanted to check again :(

Yes the Peugeot 505. Their rust proofing might have been okay for the time. I remember that most cars of the era were quite rust prone. However, the rust proofing of the 505 pales in comparison of the rust proofing of PSA vehicles introduced on the 80s. Cars like the Peugeot 205 and the (post 1987 facelift) Citroen BX were class leaders when it came to rust protection. Much better than the Toyotas, Fords, BMWs, Fiats and whatnot of the era.

The 505 was a super durable car in a dry climate .

That too sounds very interesting! All of those engines, including the diesel in the C15, are XU family engines. So they’re exchangeable with factory parts.

There is no realistic way to get that street legal in France though, is there? With the aftermarkt turbo?

When built to a good standard and keeping an eye on emissions and sound it’s easy to get legal in my native the Netherlands, and in Germany (where I currently live) you could make it work if you play by the strict rules. But what I’ve heard from France...

You can’t but it’s the first time i hear that it could be done in Germany.

We are usually less strict than Germany but swapping the engine for a different model is normally not allowed (but there are still peoples doing it).

My 205 CTI from 1987 with the 2.0 turbo from a 1996 Lancia Zeta (Peugeot engine) has Dutch plates. The engine swap is registered and approved.

I talked to a German TUV inspector about it recently, and not only is it possible for a German registration, I could even get historic plates as it’s period correct <10 years. If I remove/replace the radio, as it’s too new. However, I’m not even going to try as I expect the bureaucratic mess will kill me. It was already a nightmare when I imported my 406 coupe into Germany, and that was stock except for the LPG/GPL system.

The engine is original though, not tuned. I retrofitted a catalyst converter and bigger Peugeot 307 brakes. The TUV is said to like that.

Anyway, you could do the exact same thing with a C15.

In here, it wouldn’t be the Controle Technique ( TÜV equivalent) that would be the problem (they test if the car is braking correctly and not polluting according to the engine it is supposed to have) , it would be the insurances and/or police in case of problem that would be annoying.

Last time i had an accident on the rear, the expert did take pictures of the engine and the engine code (maybe he was doing so because i told him that the engine was not the original, that it was younger than the chassis and thus another reason not to scrap the car) .

Yeah...as much as I love them, Fia t’s idea of rus t proofing back then was about the equivalent of someone breathing lightly on something. :P
